Searcys partner with Lanson to re-open the Helix Restaurant
As London continues to get back to normality, Searcys at The Gherkin is delighted to announce the re-opening of the Helix Restaurant from Monday 21 September. To mark the occasion, Searcys will be bringing all-day, sky-high dining back to the City with new menus, Lanson Champagne and launch of their first Afternoon Tea.
Home to one of London’s first skyscraper restaurants, Helix on top of the The Gherkin will be re-opening with a new weekday menu and Champagne partnership with Lanson, alongside their first Afternoon tea for guests to enjoy. Set to the backdrop of spectacular panoramic views, the new menu will focus on the best of seasonal produce and ingredients. In celebration of all that makes London great, Searcys will pay homage to the markets across the capital, with dishes inspired by iconic food markets such as Billingsgate and Borough Market. Dishes will include Roast pumpkin velouté served with Caraway toast, apple and almond; Miso Cod loin with roast cauliflower, verjuice and grapes; and White chocolate cremeux, passionfruit, baked chocolate and mint, available for £28 for 2 courses and £35 for 3 courses.
Topping off the opening will be a glass of Lanson Champagne to celebrate in style. Partnering with Searcys for the re-opening, Lanson will be on offer for guests to enjoy while looking out at 360⁰ views. Cuvées will include Lanson Père et Fils (£15 per glass, £85 per bottle) or their 100% Organic Champagne, Lanson Le Green Label.
All-day dining offers an ideal space for business lunches for those heading back to work, as well as the launch of a leisurely new Afternoon Tea. Stemming from their bakery roots with founder John Searcys, Searcys Executive Chef Darren Deadman has designed a crowd-pleasing menu including a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, alongside sweet treats of Passionfruit mousse, Black Forest Gateaux and Lemon Macaroon. There will also be a limitless Lanson pour option for those wanting to sip the afternoon away looking out to the London skyline. Gherkin afternoon tea starts at £35, Sparkling afternoon tea with a glass of Lanson Père et Fils at £45 and £79 for limitless Champagne afternoon tea.
In line with government guidelines, The Gherkin will also be opening their stunning private dining rooms for small events, private dinners and meetings for those in the City. Searcys team at The Gherkin will be on hand to create bespoke menus and event set-up, including business meetings, intimate engagements and celebrations, all while adhering to safety and hygiene measures.
The Gherkin re-opening signals the continuing re-opening of Searcys across London, with the acclaimed St Pancras Brasserie by Searcys also set to relaunch on 21 September, home to Europe’s longest Champagne Bar, which opened in August, and joining the already open Saatchi Bar and Brasserie.
